In Response To: Mazzarin & Ceiscoran... (Pimpyō)
: : Except for the fact that it's directly stated that he
: Here is a quick tidbit for you... we know that Connacht
: disappeared at some point and returned as Balor. In
: that time a new emporer was named to rule the Cath
: Bruig Empire, that being Ceiscoran.
We don't know that that was Ceiscoran. All we know is that Ceiscoran was the one who issued copies of the Ibis Crown to be made. We don't know that this was in response to Balor's presense; hell, if I were emperor I'd have had them made as soon as I was coronated. I don't want anyone stealing *my* magic crown. So all we know is that Ceiscoran was an emperor at some point; but we don't know when.
: We also know that the Heron Guard were present in Bagrada
: to help hold the pass before the forces of the Dark
: were broken. So Ceiscoran's death was fairly recent to
: the start of TFL. So my guess is that Connacht
: disappeared while searching for many powerful
: artifacts, and in this time he became the Leveler. In
: his absensce a new emporer was named, and with him a
: new council as well. So Mazzarin would have probably
: been the most powerful of this council, and when he
: was slain by the Fallen (Bahl'al's seven waves of
: thrall) it became a salient victory during the Wind
: Age.
: So Ceiscoran could have very well been Emporer during the
: Wind Age. He may also have been Connacht's second or
: third in command, thus earning him the title of
: emporer. In this way Mazzarin's death may have been
: very recent and would have likely been just before the
: fall of Muirthmne and the death of Ceiscoran. In my
: best guess the Wind Age just ended and Myth TFL takes
: place within 100 years of the new age.
Except that we're in the Sword Age (the recent truce with the fir'Bolg was forged in the Sword Age), and we know the Wolf Age was the one before (young Myrdred was turned from the Light then). So, are you suggesting the Wolf Age only lasted a year or two?
This is how I see it:
Sixth Era
Year 6000: Wind Age begins. Connacht born.
Connacht kills Moagim, Watcher, Trow, etc.
Everybody happy.
Connacht disappears.
Year 6500: Wolf Age begins. Balor appears.
Balor subborns the Myrmidons, recruits Fallen Lords, etc.
Balor begins fighting the Light in open warfare.
Herons go defend Bagrada, Muirthemne falls, emperor dies.
Seventh Era
Year 7000: Sword Age begins. Alric born.
Alric fights Dark, kills Balor, etc.
Sixty years of peace.
Soulblighter war.
Ten years elapse.
Stupid little battle with Cartuke in Chimera.
To be continued...
So, yeah. Because I say so, that's why :-)
