Problem is, what do we define as "broke"? When is something fouled up enough to need to be fixed?

I would say, when it is no longer working. No system that man has yet to devise will work perfectly, so we just have to learn to live with its small problems and make improvements as they become available. Given that our mixture of capitalist drive and socialist inclusion has worked well enough thus far, I see no need to call for revolution or the complete overhaul of the system.

I don't think Socialism has ever been (for whatever reason) strong enough in any area where it would actually be capable of working. Thus, saying it doesn't work is sort of like saying a house of cards won't stand.

I agree, but I fail to see where you're going with this. That is what I was saying. That socialism is not strong enough to be an economic system in and of itself. It's a partial-idea and only works as a part of a greater socio-economic structure.
