I just read the NArrator bit of the site, very interesting indeed !
I never gave my attention in trying to decipher wich kind of unit the narrator is.. but i do have an impression based not on what he says but HOW he says everything.
In the Italian version of the game he sounds disgruntled.. like he's lost his hope, the chance of winning the war are slim etc.
This clearly does not represent a Berserk or a dwarf because they are fierce warriors.. even maniacs with a lust for blood.. or explosions ^^
It could be a very deprex JM.. but as stated before, his knowledge is really small.. let's just say he does not know anything at all, but just follows orders.
I do not know fir'bolg but they seems pretty hardasses to me a little bit like elves in any fantasy novel\movie\game , very proud of their heritage and things like that.
As I said before, my impression was always that the narrator was a simple warrior and not a very good one either since he spends his time writing in the journal. It could even be a watcher of his own, just following the legion keeping record of all the important events but not participating at all during battles.
Besides this, when hi talks about other units he never uses clear references.. he says : a berserk brought a packet the size of a fist to Alric.
He said " a berserk" not "one of my clan, one of my kin" or something like that; the same goes for dwarves and JM, but in the end he could really be an archer.. but a soldier is my first choice.

PS you wanted to know the Lords names in other versions ?
well , in the italian one we have :
il Corruttore (The Soulblighter) but Corruttore is much more similar to The Corruptor....
L'ingannatore (The Deceiver) fits quite right
Shiver......shiver ^^
and the most erratic one :
Il Veggente (The Watcher) which is tecnically correct, apart from the fact that nowadays Veggente in italian is more like "Seer" or "fortuneteller" than wathcer. The perfect translation would be L'Osservatore.
