When I first played it I though I was Cruniac, still thinking in the floating hand Warcraft way, then he dies, and oh, guess he wasn't me at all then.
I wrote a fan-fic about a meeting between Alric and Mauric where Alric voices his doubts, it should still be in the Fan-Fic secton.
