: Hrm. I always interpreted that quote as him being willing
: to endure the indescribable agonies inflicted BY the
: Fallen [Lords], not ON the Fallen. So to get his
: revenge, that Shade was willing to endure the agonies
: inflicted upon him by his Fallen Lord masters; not the
: agonies inherant to being undead via black magic. But
: your explanation is reasonable as well; I actually
: kinda like it.

How dare you call an explanation I produce reasonable! I didn't get my reputation for an utter lack of any capability for rational thought without a lot of hard work, you know. And now it's ruined...ruined....

"Fallen" is used elsewhere as a synonym for bad guys in general, by the way; "having no loyalties, they [spiders] will also attack the Fallen." Does the term come up anywhere else (without "Lords" attached), to your knowledge?
