I remember another qoute from a Myth II pre-release interview, saying that yes the Watcher is dead, but that might have only been said to get across he wouldn't be in Myth II.
Obviously if the Watcher, like Shiver, was cast out into the ether then Tramists mirror could bring him back. Though I wonder, is being cast into the ether something that the spirit choses to do, is it a result of the spell used against him, the choice of the Gods, all of the above? Of course theirs no way of knowing but it's an interesting thought. In my own extensive fan-fic/history the Watcher comes back through the Tramists mirror and wreaks havoc in the war before the unification of the One Dream. But then in my Fan-fic I run along the guideline of, if there's nothing in the games against i go with it. But that's a discussion for a different thread.
