Like I said in my thesis, there CAN be two battles on the same territory- just look at the Battle of Bull Run during the American Civil War- in that war alone were there two battles at the same site. Troy was razed at least 16 times (according to archaeological evidence of 16 different cities on the site). Iraq has been the focus of conflict (tribal wars, crusades, british imperialism, iraqi imperialism, american imperialism) since Civilization was born there.
It's not logical to assume that just because a city is mentioned as captured twice, that they are the same incidences.
