In Response To: Re: Bahl'al and the Watcher (controversial) (~zeph~)

: Whether or not Bahl'al is the Watcher is a matter of
: personal choice, as there is nothing truly concrete to
: support either idea, whatever their advocates claim.

In matters of evidence and proof, belief never enters into the equation. This is not based on opinion, this is based on simple observation of facts in evidence.

When it comes down to it, if the Watcher was Bahl'al, there would have been no thrall in Myth II. The only way corpses can be preserved for lengths of time like that (60 years or so) are in sterile, lead-lined caskets, which I do not think the peasantry could afford or would even consider.

There are thrall in MII, hundreds of thousands of them (see Journal entry: Gonen's Bridge), and they had to come from somewhere. If Bahl'al was gone, there would be no way they could saunter up to walk the earth again.
