A few more notes about this process...
Firstly, I didn't notice until after my previous message, but after going through all that nonsense and then playing the soundfiles, I noticed they were doubled... ie, it would play Journal Entry #1, pause for 2 seconds, and then play the same entry all over again.
I just opened them all in soundedit and cut out the doubling and now they're just fine.
Secondly, I hit another snag. After getting the narration extracted for each level, I tried for the epilogue. This, unfortunately, gave me a whole slew of errors no matter what I would try. The Fallen Sounds simply won't read the file no matter what I do.
Anyhow, all is (maybe?) not lost...
