: oh, I knew about Morrowind a loong time ago (long before
: it gained any kind of popularity), I originally
: thought it looked worth looking into, but then I saw
: it was PC only and I lost all interest. The more I
: heard about it, the less good it sounded to me,
: personally. It sounds really long, and I have a very
: short patience. ;) It also sounds more open-ended than
: I'd like (I'm one of the FF-obsessed people ;). What
: do you think of it, though? I've only read/heard
: reviews, never talked to someone who'd played it.
: Doom =)
Well it has an official site: http://www.elderscrolls.com/index.php
They also have it for X-Box. It is very open-ended. And if along the way you drop an item that is important to the main quest make sure you remember exactly where you dropped it because it is a huge island. When my friend first told me about it I wasn't interested. But then I saw it and it looked interesting to me. The island is called Vvarvendell. I found this on a site that talked about the game:
"Your first quest has you delivering a package to an attaché of the emperor in the merchant town, Balmora. You have the option of taking a silt strider, a giant flea-like bug that serves as a sort of Vvarvendell bus service, to instantly reach Balmora, but I opted to go on foot to explore more of the scenery. After following the signs along the road, doing a single quest involving finding a woman's errant lover, exploring the wilderness a bit, and simply having a blast, I arrived in Balmora a full two hours later. I checked out the in-game world map that reveals how much of the island you've seen, and gasped as I saw how little I had actually explored."
It is said that Morrowind could possibly feature around 500 hours of gameplay. But it just depends on how many quests you decide to do and if you explore the island or get lost and what paths you take. When I first played it I didn't know where any of the cities were. But they give you an idea and there are road signs too. If I start again and I plan to I won't make the same mistakes I have made in the past. I started to play it on August 31, 2002 and stop playing it on October 26, 2002. You might ask how do I remember... Well I don't, it is always a good idea to have multiple saves incase you die or mess up a quest or lose an important item. And the saves tell you when they were created so that is why I know the dates right now.
It gets boring if you play it for hours in one day of course cuz it gets you tired. But overall it is a fun game and it gets better along the way cuz your skills become better and you get more money to buy more and better stuff. You can ahold of better armor and weapons. You can even enchant your armor and weapons to heal u or do fire damage or whatever you choice, but it might cost some money or if you try it yourself you will need a high level for that skill. There is many things to Morrowind. Check out the site and if you search you can find a site that has a map of Morrowind.
