: Besides, Ghasts are a different branch of Undeadolutionô;
: they are the first stage in what will eventually be a
: Wight, not a Thrall. So all the Wights once were
: Ghasts. I think that Ghasts, then, aren't a very
: unsuccessfull experiment in necromancy.
After careful study, I have come to several conclusions on the differences between the types of undead:
Thrall: thrall are just corpses reanimated and bound together by magic as they are usually to rotted to stick together on thier own, this magic also protects them from further decomposition and gives them an unatural amount of toughness as it takes quite a lot of punishment before these magics fail.
Ghasts: ghasts are relatively fresh reanimated corpses, they are still fresh enough to hold together on thier own and therefore the spells that bind thrall together are not used, another reason for the lack of the binding spells is that tumors, parasites, poison gas, and other such things are encouraged to grow within the corpse.
Whites: as the ghast fills up with puss and such, he starts to bloat up, however the corpse cannot hold together under the pressure of the stuff inside and so wights are sewn together, when puncutured all that pent up pressure blows out resulting in a massive explosion of puss and disease.
