Hrm. I always interpreted that quote as him being willing to endure the indescribable agonies inflicted BY the Fallen [Lords], not ON the Fallen. So to get his revenge, that Shade was willing to endure the agonies inflicted upon him by his Fallen Lord masters; not the agonies inherant to being undead via black magic. But your explanation is reasonable as well; I actually kinda like it.
