Where are you getting this cycle stuff? From Broken Cycle? I doubt very much that SB's goal was to unsurp the mantle of the Leveler... it said before that SB like his master just sought to destroy, also stated is something along the lines of "he wishes to achieve the goal/glory/or something that was denied his master". Pretty much it looks like he was just planning to carry on Balor's mission.
