: and so one of the Taken is called the Hanged Man.

I'm not too sure about your SoulBlighter/Hanged Man connection (the rest seems to make sense). SoulBlighter has a lot more in common with SoulCatcher. Both have 'Soul' in their names, SoulBlighter can turn into a flock of crows, SoulCatcher used crows for scouting, and in the later books of the Black Company novels, SoulCatcher is the great and terrible evil, much like SoulBlighter in Myth 2. Also, I think I heard a rumor that the Faceless One from The Black Company was one and the same with the Hanged Man (much as Moonbiter may be the same as the Howler).
