Just in case you wanted to know specifically (I know Martel has answered the other queries in full) ; The Black Company is indeed a series of fantasy books; written around the 80s and early 90s concerning well; The Black Company. This company were a series of hardbitten veterens who by misfortune found themselves in the employ of Soulcatcher, a member of a ruling body of undead similar to the fallen lords. The style of narration is very similar to that of the pre-game of Myth; concerning how weary everyone is of fighting and losing (in the first book; the rebels are much more powerful in this series). The Black Company is basically the same as the particular legion the narrator of Myth belongs to. I think there are three books in this series; there should be a section on them somewhere within this site.
Oh, and a questiom; does anyone know where to buy or read Tales Of The Fallen Lords? (That comic, whatever it's called)
