Seriously guys it's just a metaphor. There's no fancy magical sword or cloak or helmet or emblem or quilt or security blanket or secret handshake or etc. that bestows the entity of the Leveller upon the wearer. Sure we may be not entirely sure what the Leveller entity actually does to make the person the Leveler whether it possesses or corrupts or whatever.

But the Mantle of the Leveler was just a metaphorical speech of the poetic journal writer, a metaphorical way of saying "Balor, Moagim and all those before them had the characteristics of the Leveler, evil mothers who wanted to kill everybody."
