Well, the book is about a world called Krynn where....
I won't tell you ALL the story but Chaos the father of gods returning and wants to destroy Krynn which his children (the gods of light and darkness) created, for the world is creation of order (a thing that Chaos hates most). The book itself telling about a band of heroes trying to save the world e.t.c. The interesting thing is that among the minions of Chaos existing these shdow-wights.
P.S. i found the idea of mahir connection in the Teutonic mythology rather cool.
