welll... it could be possible for fan material to be counted as canon, sort of, if it was created by or fully approved by the original Myth makers (more or less like Chimera was). I don't think that happens often though...
Question: would it be considered fan material if the original creators of Myth made a plugin or something if they aren't working for Bungie or MJ, or anybody else for that matter?

everyone's catching it! Except me.... :(. I haven't even caught one tiny little cold for the past 4-5 years! The worst thing I've had has been a tiny little 24-hour-type stomach bug, and that was on spring vacation, so I didn't even get out of school! I did puke a dozen times though, which was really annoying.
