Try writing some poetry from Balor's perspective. Picture him in his fortress contemplating the conflicts plaguing his army and his mind. Maybe do a Gollum-esque split personality thing which manifests in his "alone time". Email it to me when your done.
I'm thinking of writing some extracts from the Dwarven eddas at some stage but don't hold your breath.
