: The Mana branches
: interestingly enough I thought you 'borrowed' the mana
: branches from "Dark Age of Camelot"
Well... I might have if I had ever heard of it... but I haven't, so I probably didn't... =)
Seriously, though, the mana branches do have a little founding in classic mythology (mana really is the form of spiritual-magical energy stuff used by angels and demons in Christian mythology), which is probably why it sounds familiar, in that both I and this other thing (is it a book? a movie? a game? who knows? [of course, that's probably everybody besides me, of course]) did our homework in finding out what mana is supposed to be. Everything other than what I drew from classic mythology, though, are my own ideas in the mana branches... thx for taking the time to read through it, it's a little long (and getting longer... um, rather infrequently).
: does any of this have any founding in Myth...?
Erm, strictly speaking, um... no.
BUT!
If you'll read one of my inane posts in response to Seraph, in this strand, it explains WHY I bothered to post this. But, just so I don't force you to go hunting for it, I'll tell you now (if you give me a nickel, or at least an imaginary one). Seraph was asking if I was trying to bother him, I think, and I responded by telling him that he had asked for theories on magic and stuff in a post in a strand a while back, and since I didn't feel like finding it at the time, I just posted it as an original post.
I am currently working on incorporating Myth into it (read: it'll probably be done by this time next millenium), although the warlocks already fit nicely into the picture. The avatara are giving me a problem though. I think I'm going to try to put them into the Mana branches, somehow, but that's nowhere near definite, so if I change my mind, I'll run away if you try to sue me. =b =)
ANYWAY!
