: Well spotted. Yes, Myth seems to have had quite a lot of
: influences from Celtic myth. Apparently, there was a
: city in Ireland called Muirthemne, Maeldun was a
: celtic hero who made an epic quest against pirates
: from Leix, I'm pretty sure that someone has a theory
: that the later parts of TFL are based on the Tain Bo
: Cuillagh (sp?), with Alric and Balor being symbolic of
: Medb and Cucullain respectively. Balor was the leader
: of the Fomorians in Celtic myth, a race who drove the
: Fir'bolg into the West (Trow?). The Ghols worship Crom
: Cruagh, a Celtic worm god. And Connaught is a province
: in Ireland. I'm pretty sure some of the other Avatara
: are named after heroes of Celtic myth, but I'm not
: sure where.

: There's some references to Norse Myth as well, although
: not so many. The Trow were a race of sea-trolls from
: the Orkneys. And virtually every single Dwarf name in
: Myth is borrowed from the Norse, too.

Of course. Almost every "made-up" name in Myth (at least I and II, can't speak for 3) is based upon something from myths or history from around the world.
