I don't think so. He was a king, remember? We know Mauriac was Regent earlier in the war, which means that Caliban must have died before this time. However, since Alric was one of the Nine, it's likely that Caliban would have been One in his time, too: he certainly thought it worthwhile to have his son Alric trained in the ways of sorcery and the sword, and probably by the best tutors gold could buy.
