I'm glad you had a discussion on physics( on a game that has reanimated dead and kickboxing trolls... and magic... and leprakauns). I felt that the the head and balors head are one and the same because this is probaley what bungie was heading for, for its big plot twist in their myth3(not the one set in the past).
In the myth 2 is says one of the previous leveler was cut up into pieces and taken around the world maybe thats his head.
Changing the subjects from quarks (aren't they really small particles smaller then atoms?) some one should make a myth3 set after 2 here are my ideas
-Soulbighter is reforged by tharsis into an ustoppable killing machine
-The trow declare war on humanity for creating connacht and soulblighter. They return to iron weapons
and want nothing more then the total extinction of people:)
