In the Myth II epilogue, they say that we don't know if Soulblighter broke the cycle until another 940 years have passed, during which the Dark should return and at the very end, the next Leveller will be killed. The Sword Age began during the Great War, and the Sword Age is the first age of the 7th Era. The Wolf Age began when Balor arose and ended when Alric arose. Thus, the 6th Era ended when the Wolf Age ended and the Sword Age began. Then, a couple years into the Sword Age, Balor was finally killed. Myth II is still in the Sword Age. The Sword Age will end when the next Leveller arises.
The events we know of go like this:
Unnamed dark age begins, Moagim rises.
[ . . . ]
Myrkridian war begins.
6th Era begins, Wind Age begins, Connacht arises.
Connacht kills Moagim, Myrkridian war ends.
[ . . . ]
Wolf Age begins, Balor arises.
[ . . . ]
Great War begins.
7th Era begins, Sword Age begins, Alric rises.
Alric kills Balor, Great War ends.
See? In the middle of the war, the eras turn over. The Great War started at the end of the 6th Era and ended at the beginning of the 7th. Balor died at the beginning of the 7th, shortly after Alric arose. We're still in the beginning of the 7th, and it won't end 'till around 940 years from now. (To be perfectly accurate, the next Leveller should die 929 years after Chimera ends, 939 years after Myth II ends, and 1000 years after Myth TFL ends).
