: That's exactly my point. They shouldn't have tried to
: answer everything since that would need more
: mysteries. However, everything they answered would
: have required too much new stuff so the answer should
: have been to still leave the classic mysteries alone
: such as the Head. The only way they could have done
: that is by changing the setting of Myth 3.

: All M3 does is answer questions. And those answers are
: only Andrew Meggs' interpretation of them. Nothing new
: is added in Myth 3 to get excited about. It's not a
: problem of contradiction it's simply a matter of the
: lack of creativity. But I admint, I wouldn't have
: agreed with anything new they added either. None the
: less, I would have been more willing to accept it as a
: game in its own right.

: In my opinion, Myth 3 should not have been. If MJ wanted
: to do a Myth-like project, they should have written
: their own story.

I agree that M3 answers too much. But don't pin the blame on Meggs. He was a programmer--he may have contributed to the story (I don't know), but the responsibility for the story was in the hands of the Scott Campbell, the lead designer. Bungie didn't give him any of their background story notes--so when it came time to write the story, he took the safe road and turned the background stories in TFL/SB into a main story (TWA). I'll admit it was a creative rendition--but it falls very short of Bungie's storytelling.
