In Response To: Re: Myth TFL, Myth II, Myth III Errata! (Ghôlsbane)

: Bah, I guess it is the "official" expansion
: pack, but I remember reading a discussion about it not
: being canon. I'll have to play it first. I can't seem
: to get a working download anywhere. Anyone know where
: I can?

There's alink on the Bungie site - if you're willing to pay the hosting company, which I'm not. So...anyone know of a decent link?

: That's quite a ridiculous argument since yes, I agree, I
: would be saying similar things because I have no idea
: what Bungie's vision of Myth was, so naturally anyone
: else who is acting on their judgment alone cannot hope
: to produce an identical story. If in your implausible
: hypothetical situation this did happen, I would have
: no way of knowing whether it was EXACTLY the same
: plot.

: Now, I just know you're going to say: "So how do you
: know that MJ's plot isn't what Bungie envisaged?"
: which I would answer by saying: "I don't but I'm
: going by the probability I have at my disposal".
: I'm finding it difficult to fathom this argument
: because of its inherrent nonsense.

Ok, I believe there was a misunderstanding here. My point is that M2 takes away a lot of the mystery of M1. It does not throw up enough new questions of its own to cover all those it has removed, because otherwise it wouldn't be M2, it would be TFL. My point is that it wasn't only M3 thta removed mystery, and that not everyhting has to be shrouded in doubt and vagueness - M2 is still good, and canon, thouhg it removes a great deal of the TFL mystery. Anyway, that said, both M2 and M3 throw up lots of mysteries.
: That's pretty much what Mazzarin does to Connacht anyway,

K, bad example. But I think you exaggerate

: we just don't hear it. The fact that they couldn't
: create a better backstory of their own

Actaully, the manual's backstory is original (as far as it can get without destroying the Myth mythos), and good.

: lends nothing
: to the credibility of Myth 3, it only adds to the many
: reasons why it shouldn't have been hyped as a Bungie
: beater.

It wasn't hyped at all. Hence, no one knows of it except old Myth vets. Apart from a few select few...

: I thought Children's Television Workshop owned all the
: letters and numbers. Microsoft will have to make do
: with punctuation marks...

See, I'd anticipated this remark and decided to ignore it.
But I can't help myself, so I must point out that Microshat owns the letters "M", "S" and "N".

Legally ownz. You ca't even use the' 'owadayz without rizki'g bei'g 'ued.
