Heh, my parents "cleaned" the computer room once and M2 was lost for years...then when I found it, it was so scratched that it'd only run for less than 2 minutes, if it loaded at all.
To get rid of the blinking mouse problem, run in software mode in Preferences, not in 3d card mode.
And if you CAN run in 3d card mode & not have a flashing mouse cursor, please tell me how. :D
