I take it when you mean connection you meann "Is it a logical evolution."
At first It doesn't look like it, but taking into account Ravanna originally had a magic attack until time constraints meant it had to be dropped. If we accept that she went with Damas into the East then we can assume she was drawn in by the same malevolent forces and perhaps had a greater affinity with magic and excelled at it.
If, as Seraph believes, you have not played Myth I and II, I suggest you read the entire Legends and Lore section, mainly The Journal and Encyclopedia.
