Uh, no. The weather seems to have little effect on the zerks (barring Reiftyr of course) since their homeland is pretty cold and they are hard-asses with sense numbing drugs.

Herons always seem to me to be desert dweller/wanderers. That may be because the Barrier is a desert and their origins are at Muirthemne but also their dress seems very desert like and sandy...

They carry limited numbers in battle but I assume the legions travelling caravans hold a huge stock of them hence we always have them at the start of levels.

Yeah, we only seem to hear of sorcerors during battles (Shadow of the Mountain) and I'm pretty sure the Journeymen would be the medical experts of the Legion.
