: 2)The Callieach name for Wyrd and the Dwarves based their
: religion on ancient Calliach texts they found.
: 3)A Person (Avatar) that taught the Dwarves Magic.
: 4)An artifact that granted power.

Excellent points, and I think Doom's post was dead on. The reason I'm wondering is because Llancarfan is also a name with a history--I don't recall the exact facts, but at one point I did research that name. As it turned out, Llancarfan was the name of some springs in one of those nordic areas, and that a city or town had come to be called Llancarfan as a result. That's why Bungie chose the name--just look at the map. Muirthemne is drop dead in the middle of a desert, with no other cities nearby. Why? Well of course--there must be springs in the desert that feed the city and give it it's name, Llancarfan.
See, that's why I think Muirthemne has some sort of clever history, too. The more you look at the actual *writing* of the Myth story, the more I'm impressed by Bungie's resourcefulness. Yeah they borrow many things, as is the nature of the game they are creating. But they do it such a way as to make each piece of the puzzle their own. So somewhere, somehow, there's a reason for the word Muirthemne, which I think Doom is close to hitting on. But it seems I'll have to do some more searching and report back. :)
