: SOunds like one cool game, I'm guessing it's available in
: *hush* rom format, for us non-486s?
Actually I have no idea. I'm not sure that a 486 (or lower) would actually be necessary. The earlier games you would have to play in MS-DOS mode and use a slow down program to run. Not sure if there are any of the older games for the Mac or not.
Sierra On-line produced a number of excellent games that I grew up with along the same lines of King's Quest.
You had:
-King's Quest (up to #8)
-Space Quest (up to #6. #7 never finished development, though a fan creation, "The Lost Chapter," was released)
-Hero Quest (title changed to "Quest for Glory." up to #5)
-Colonel's Bequest (Followed by a sequel "Dagger of Amon Ra")
-The Black Cauldron
-Leisure Suit Larry (for those 'dirty' individuals. up to #7)
-Police Quest (up to #3 in the original format. #4 became SWAT [which is up to #3 I believe])
I have most of these. They were great fun, and I look forward to being able to play them again. As far as I know, there will not be any sequels to any of these series (With the slight possible exception of King's Quest, and, of course, Swat).
