: No, but on a 'fantasy' basis- the shortest lived races
: such as humans (as opposed to the traditional Elves
: and Dwarves, who don't exist in Myth)

Lol, who are those little guys with the cocktails then?

Thats' true. But - taking Tolkien as my example, as he's the only fantasy author I have read that shows the differences in death opinions between those three races, Elves don't fear it because they are naturally immortal - indeed, they percieve it as a Gift because quite frankly the world becomes extremely tiring for them.
Men fear death for threee reasons: the first is the obvious one: it's Death. The seocnd is that agents of evil such as Morgoth and Sauron have taught them to fear it and the unknown. The third is that those Men who have come into contact with Elves (and Sauron hepls this process along), such as the Numenoreans, grow jealous of the Elves' immortality, and desire it for themselves, thinking it unfair that they should have to die, and so emablming bodies and creating cults to try to achieve some level of immortality.
Dwarves are just hard, so they fear nothing. :) Well, I suppose they might fear death, but their mentality as a race doesn't really dwell on such issues.
Orks fear death a lot, because they're the shortest lived of the races and must have appaling mortality rates - though this fear would dissapear almost instantaneously when in war.
Dragons fear death a lot - being immortal, the last thing they want to do is to have their lives ended.

: - are more
: fascinated with 'death cults'. One only needs to look
: back at Ancient Egypt to see what fear of death can
: do.

: As for creatures that aren't necrophobic, I put forth
: Lemmings as #1 contender.

The big green hair just means they can't see where they're going. :(
