No idea about their intentions, but yes, I don't think that any human could write it, or for that matter any being "write" it with a quill pen and ink, but I think it's generally accepted that when people say it was written they mean created. It's a very strange book, and to be frank I think that its pages show what you're looking for - if they had everything, it'd be HUGE.
