He has a little mesh effect and minor explosion, but it does no damage... other than that he just crumbles.
The watcher, being the second or third most powerful sorcerer in living memory, probably would have died much more potently had he not been muffled by his turning to stone. This is just my opinion though, i could be totally wrong:P.

Where was it said that his destruction did that? I dont remember it in any of the first 2 myths...

: knowledge and mastery. I believe that Soulblighters
: visit to the east was an attempt to vastly increase
: the amount of magical energy at his disposal-not to
: fully master it. The deceiver's power centered on
: manipulating things around him. I also find it likely
: that his magics are fueled by different means than the
: vast raw magic i think to be inside of the other
: sorcerers....this is probably why he does not explode.

Im not sure about the plane theory (although it could be valid, i just don't know), but I do tend to agree with the type of magic the deciever posessed—manipulation rather than destruction, which could be why he didn't explode.
