: In the encyclopedia, it says that Madrigal is part of the
: Province. Is this right?
: I am asking this because the introduction to TFL says,
: '...until the free city of Madrigal alone defied them
: (the Fallen)...'. This could mean free as in free from
: the Dark but there is more evidence.
: The Warrior flavor text says, 'After the armies of The
: Province were finally broken at Convenant, the
: survivors scattered among the Free Cities of the
: North...'. This makes you think that the last
: Provincial (is that a real word?) Armies were broken
: at Covenant and the Province has been lost or at least
: that there are no more armies there. This would mean
: that Madrigal is a Free City because it is where the
: light have garrisoned themselves (there are an awful
: lot of light there).
: I hope you understand what I mean, because I almost
: don't.
Hrm... I could swear I saw in one of the manuals' glossary, something like "Province, The - the cities of Covenant, Tyr, Scales, and Madrigal, and the lands that surround them", but I can't find anything on the Province now, anywhere. How odd.
Anyway, I suspect that it was Free City in TFL but was incorporated into the Province afterwards, seeing as Alric is king of the Province, and he lives in Madrigal.
