*Smacks his forehead and shakes his head.* No, no... You just...don't get it, do you? I explained all of the points you brought up that second time, wherein I became so frustrated that I simply did not bother responding. I already had disproved them, and yet you brought them back up again. That's essentially all I did the entire thread, refute the same tired, illogical arguments.
And I'm only 17, and know a girl a year younger than I who is easily the most intelligent, most mature person I've ever met. Age is hardly an excuse, sir.
To everyone who disagrees with me, please tell me what the truth is when I say something that isn't the truth, because it's very hard to look at it reasonably when a statement is like the one Archer just made.
Now that is infuriating and offensive, that one especially, as well as the other half-dozen times you chose to use rhetoric and erism to make me look the enemy. I cannot believe you feel victimized by my saying in frustration that I would not reitterate what I already had said due to the circumstances.
However, I would be delighted to begin our discussion on this again, though my time is limited, which is the other reason I felt I didn't need to respond (in addition to the said implication of the fear that my arguments would fall to silence). I won't be able to respond to every post I wish to (as with the last thead) by the misfortune of that alone.
If we do this, we should keep it reasonably organized. We can do a debate between just the two of us, Seraph, though I don't see how that would easily bring many others into the argument (unless we had team debate, which is hard on a forum).
I propose then that we have a group dicussion not unlike what normally occurs here at the Asylum. However, rather than attempting our usual erism, let us endeavor to use heuristic anaylsis, and pose our arguments logically and reasonably. As well, we might be better served by focussing on one topic at a time, which I know is difficult because of the interrelatedness of this vastly broad subject, but it will allow individual problems and disagreements to be resolved, rather than just arguing for the sake of arguing, in an endless cycle of the same fallacious diatribes.
Seraph, or perhaps someone else, you might just respond to your original post of this thread with your argument. It could be any specific topic, but here is an example:
Resolve: The use of nuclear weapons on Japan during World War II was immoral.
So, you can use that, or any of the many individual topics constituting this vast subject; whatever you desire (such as the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, the destruction of "tyrranical" regimes, etcetera). As long as it's just one topic, we all should be able to come to a resolution. *Shrugs, then welcomingly indicates for him to begin.* Tocca a te, signore.
