Objectively, I think you're right. The gameplay is enjoyable, the new graphics are good and there's some incredible-if-slightly-buggy scripting going on. (If you haven't opened it up with Loathing to see how Kyrilla teleports, do.) When I and everyone else here complain about Chimera, I think most of us are doing so in our status as Asylum inmates; personally, I spend considerably more time researching the story of each Bungie game than I do actually playing it. Gameplay's just not that important to me, compared to plot and dialogue. So my viewpoint, and that of this forum in general, is going to be a little skewed.
