Big irony:
The USA is accused in this fashion:
Our problem in the USA is the fact that we have to stop acting like we are divinely appointed to rule.
Seraph there indicates that the United States feels free to involve itself with the rest of the world, to make it better, perhaps improve humanitarian things, or get rid of evil dictators.
It is criticized because other countries would say then to America, "Where do you get off being the Moral Leader of the World?" or, "Who died and made you God", etcetera.
But this is contradicted even by Seraph himself, as well as the many others who make the equivalent plaint. For even when the United States would say, "All right, fine, we'll worry about our own issues and isolate ourselves some; you clean up the world," it would be internationally chastized again, because people would then very much criticize the United States for only thinking of itself, of being selfish, greedy, and unwilling to help in the world.
This is a double standard. It basically means the USA can't exist at all or have any policy whatsoever.
*throws up hands* What the heck are we supposed to do then?? There's no winning in that kind of ironic situation. And this dreadful paradox is pervayed all the time.
