This fore note was added after finishing the rest of the post, after noticing how long it is I'm puttin this in: Archer said could we name a more decent nation, I gave it a shot, though also note that no nation is perfect and we all need to make the best of what we have, and try and make up for what we have. Oh and sorry for spelling and grammer, it 10:20 and I got 4 hours sleep last nightzzzzzzzz.

You may have challenged Seraph, but I'll tag this one (granted this is a massive example of patriotism as well so to soften it I'll throw another few examples in)
Currently in Ireland our Constition allows similar rights, and has done since its creation, womens lib, freedom of speech etc. have existed in our Bunracht na Ιireann (constitution) since its creation in the 1910's. Granted may other nations had adapted these already, but not having any official government at the time we got a bit held back. in extra the Irish people have complete control over our own Goverment, anythin and I mean anyhting is voted on, for example in some EU countries the goverment chose to join the EU, in Ireland, we voted. However we have one advantage that most western developed nations have not, our population, due to the sudden jump from poverty to plentifullness we did not go through the usual pop. spurt in between and thus our populatoin is only 3.9 million, which makes running it pretty easy all in all. Now some of the key advantages of being small is government funding, our public schools are of high quality, University Education is free and we have a better than some health service. These make Ireland a pretty nice place to live, grow old and die, and why I have no plans to ever immigrate.
Thats the patriotism, here's the modesty. Clearly our small population has one major difficulty, war, its correct that we if invaded would require help from another nation, however Ireland never made much of a global impact and thus nobodies too intrested in us. Our working economy I admit is thanks to our American friends, who set up their factories here, helping our economy. Finally I'd like to state that there are probably other nations with equal and better situations, but I din;t go into this too deeply and just focused on home. The best way to end this is, every nation has its advantages and which is why we need global peace to keep a stable glocal community.
