You don't even say why you feel this way. Besides, I'm not even sure you know what being an American is.
I am proud to be an American. I may not be proud of what parts of my government do, or even some of my fellow Americans. I may not be proud of the racism or various issues that seem to plague this country (or most countries really). But I am proud to be a part of the U.S. There's more to any nationality than what's on the surface or what's currently on the news. I won't go into it now, but there are some things to be proud of. Feel your national pride, my boy. Be better than the surface. Dig deep. Stop spouting hate, because you tend to convince yourself that things are worse than they really are.
That's all I can stand to say at this point.
