: The only thing we truely know about the Ibis Crown is
: that it has "truely staggering power." and
: that Ceiscoran made twelve ordinary copies of it at
: "fantastic expense".
: It is a strong possibility but not out right staten fact
: that it is the royal crown of the Cath Bruig.
: The problem with determining its powers is that we don't
: know if Alric actually is wearing it as
: (Emperor)...someone care to prove me wrong here?
I wonder if the Crown belongs to a realm of magery which Alric doesn't know a whole lot about... although not very likely, I still consider this a possibility. One would think that such an artifact would increase one's ability exponentially. Yet Alric still uses 3 dispersals and his swordsmanship skills have not improved so much as to evoke the response "OMG ALRIK 0WNZ NOW.. B4 HE DIDNT".
Which leads me to believe that either (A) Alric didn't have enough time during the campaigns to explore the Crown's full usefullness or (B) the Crown is like a 'key' to Balmung.. in the hands of a mere berserk, it can kill a few ghosts, but in Alric's hands, it can kill legions.
: Alric already is pretty powerful in my opinion, so it
: would be hard to tell how much of what he does after
: getting the crown is the Crown's doing, and how much
: is his own strength.
A very good point... although we do know his pre-Crown skills, when we used him in TFL, there are unknown variables which could have changed things since then.
: Speaking of Alric, is there any reason he wears red in
: TFL, and in game at least, a rather faded red?
: Same in myth II, but at least there, red is a Royal color
: and he is a king, later the Emperor, so it's not as
: surprising.
Red is an important literary symbol... although I can't say for sure, I just think Bungie made him wear it in TFL because it looked really cool on him :)
