When Tharsis erupted we can see the comet in the sky too... in the cutscene where it shows all the Light who have been turned to the Dark by The Deceiver. Maybe Tharsis is the largest ground and its peak is closer to the comet than anything else. The comet might have made Tharsis into a volcano. Maybe when Tharsis erupts and the comet appears it means that the real battle has begun or that the battle agaist the hero and Leveler is coming close. Tharsis will erupt and the comet will appear again in the next age. Look what was happening when Tharsis erupted and the comet appeared...many cities had fallen, Shiver gone, the Dark getting stronger or at least it seemed they were getting better... the storyline seem to be reaching the climax... its peak.
