Yea but the comet appeared around the same time, and volcanoes tend to be bad omens. However we do see the comet behind Balor in the movie so that might be a way of linking them however theories support either way, and the main point was that one is Hero other Leveller.

Yea but he's had sixty years of studies, I myth TFL he was only 30, the lack of comet is counteracted by his greater knowledge, eg Mazzarin didn't need a comet ot be great.
