: Why do you think the Dwarves play such an important part
: in the army of the West? If any of the Dwarven cities
: were still intact, they would have needed every
: available warrior to defend them. Which is one of the
: ways that TFL is so dark: every single dwarf that we
: command is a refugee, fleeing from their despoiled and
: ruined empire.
No less important than the fir'Bolg who play throughout the game, or the berserks. Their homes are both intact, as far as I can recall.
Someone else threw this out, but I don't want to look fo it. Where do all the satchels and cocktails come from, if the dwarves have no place to call home?
And here's the best piece of evidence that says Stoneheim was never taken or destroyed entirely: "Within a year of Balor's defeat, the dwarves had reclaimed Myrgard and its provinces. Most dwarves chose to return to their homeland and rebuild, but some built new lives in the West." No mention of Stoneheim being rebuilt. Someone else brought this point up so give them the credit. This is the only thing in Myth that really resembles Tolkien... in LotR, the dwarves lost their home at Moria, and later attempt to return. Moria is not the only city of the LotR dwarves, it's simply one of the most important ones. Myrgard is given similar treatment in Myth: a city of great importance that was destroyed and occupied, but not the only one the dwarves have. Had all their cities been taken, I'm sure Bungie would have made that clear (i.e. the dwarves are returning to Myrgard AND Stoneheim).
