: Stoneheim was beseiged by the ghols. The dwarves were at
: the walls and gates, doing their best to fend off the
: attackers. When hope seemed lost, they did what they
: had to do: blew the gates. The stonework collapsed,
: sealing off the city. Many of the dwarves were killed,
: but they took just as many ghols with them, and saved
: the rest of the populace. A bittersweet victory, to be
: sure.

Well, judging by the way the flavor text is written, it's not unreasonable to assume that the Dwarves died.
