: Spoilers for the first novel be here!
: Remember when the Lady was talking to Croaker inside the
: Tower at Charm? She said that her ancient husband, the
: Dominator (the same guy she and the 10 Taken were
: buried alive with) was influencing the Circle (via
: telepathy or some similar magic power). Therefore,
: certain members of the Circle were acting for the
: Dominator, and the rest of the circle was unwittingly
: following him too. Which means that the Lady is quite
: literally a lesser evil, and the Circle is working for
: a much greater evil.
Or this is sort of like the Head...but I'll agree with it.
: So, the Nine of Myth are not really similar to the
: Circle, since the former works for good and the latter
: (either unwittingly or intentionally) works for evil.
: But as for the White Rose and how she might fit into
: Myth, I cannot really think of a way. Imo, a character
: like her was simply left out of Myth.
Is that a good thing or a bad thing in your opinion? or is it neither.
: Yep it comes into play much later. They belong to the
: last Free Company of Khatovar, but for the first few
: novels, the name has no real importance. At the end of
: The White Rose, it is finally given mention as an
: intro into later events.
Okay, I'll wait until I read that book to ask more about it.
: The character on the cover is Soulcatcher, the one who
: rode in on that huge ship into Beryl. Very small
: person, with a black morion and leather outfit, dagger
: with a red gem held by sculpted claw in the pommel of
: the dagger. The cover is an excellent one.. I think it
: was painted first and then Cook based the appearance
: of SC on that picture, but I could be wrong. Either
: way it fits the description in the book.
It is very good and kind of scary...good for the first book of the series.
: The pentagram also is important. The first White Rose
: buried the Dominator, the Lady, and the 10 Taken
: inside a huge subterranean complex. The Ten were on
: the 5 points of the shape and on the 5 inside
: criss-cross thingies. The two others were buried
: together in the center. Soulcatcher mentions at the
: end of the first chapter that a fool named Bomanz
: released them from their prison, the 10 and the Lady,
: a long time ago (but the Lady kept the Dominator
: trapped inside).
I'll have to reread that part, but okay.
: In that way, the Lady must struggle against the Circle
: and their Rebel, and also try to keep the Dominator
: from finding a way to get himself out. A very cool
: plot if you ask me :D
: -Welly
It is very cool...
So are the forces of the Rebel winning or losing at the point I'm at? (End of book two)
I cann't tell, sounds like both parties are in a bad place.
