In Response To: Re: Myth II and Suspence or lack of the above *PIC* (zeph)

: Myth II did in many ways get across the no hope, eg
: comparing howit took 17 years to fight to Madrigal
: with all the power of the Leveller and only a few
: months with the Myrkridia, I dunno about you but I
: find that SCARY. I think that the Drawings of the
: Myrkridia did get across the scariness of them, in
: particular the Gate of Storms lose pic. I find loads
: of blindingly fast viscous Werewolves pretty much a
: nightmare. The sprites (and later on the models) just
: couldn;t get the inages of the sketches across. Myth
: III failed to get a desperate feel because it wasn't
: first person writing, which would have been impossible
: because it was already set that Myth III took place
: over many years not the short one or two of Myth 1 and
: II.

Perhaps the krids should never have actually been shown. Once you see something, it diminishes in its ability to generate fear.

Blindingly fast you say? Heh, believe it or not, krids are exactly the same speed as zerks :/ Perhaps more levels where you had warrs would have helped - I always found it strange how in both levels, warrs just disappeared halfway through.

Personally I feel that Myth III could, and should have had a narrator. No reason why the writings on the cave wall couldn't have been a first-person history, or a collection of them.

cheers
Iron
