If the events that happen to the Journal Writer or his group happened to someone in real life...well I think they'd die in fright.
What went wrong in Myth II?
The myrkridia...the nightmares made flesh...Wyrd...they were too pathetic verus Alric.
Watching them tear appart the warriors and bowmen and the other units is scary.
Injuried Warrior: "Sire...those beasts...they're unstopable...we don't have a prayer."
Alric: "Stand back all of you!"
*Disperal Dream*
Alric: "We need to reach the ship, its the only chance we've got."
Now if the Warriors had fought valiantly but fell, and the Myrkridia had persued the survivor/survivors and just as they were approaching him and he said they were unstopable: THEN Alric had blasted them with a disperal dream as they came down up you howling for blood, looking like the big nasty thing that is killing Alric in the lost screen only even scarier that would have probably made me faint of shock.
I don't know...the myrkridia are just not very scary or strong for a race that kept the world in stark terror in the Wind Age.
The Heron Guards also should be stronger, since out of practice for a century or not, they were the finest warriors of the greatest Empire of human existance.
A Heron Guard should kill anyone of humaniod type size one on one. Dwarves, Archers, Warriors, Berserks, Thrall, Ghols, Soulless, Myrkridia, Journeymen. (besides Alric, the Deciever, Soulblighter and maybe hero units)
Oh on the subject of Berserks I think the guy who made the Recapture of Scales scenario (His name is forgotten for the moment) made Berserks too strong or trow too weak or something.
I had four berserks at full health and zero kills.
The trow killed one and badly injured another AND THEN DIED!
(well, it took a couple tries to do this, but even at worst he was signifacntly injured)
The two surviving berserks also got a Shade into the red I don't remember how far.
That's a little too strong methinks. I was playing on normal, in case that effects anything.
