: Maybe he just vanishes to the Untamed Lands once
: again. Or his left over army is looking around the
: dead to look for good corpes to to reinforce
: Soulblighter's army with undead. And look for
: Diarmuid's body to make him a Shade. Then take off to
: the Untamed Lands or to conquer another city.

He shadifies Diarmund, then continues to ressurect every corpse he can get his hand on. He learned the location of a magical book or spell or something of sorts from Diarmund, and either has his army sit tight or sends them to reinforce the watcher (or even shivers army, or perhaps back to balors fortress). He spends the time searching for more power.
