: Ok, this is some major nitpicking. Just because Kyrilla
: says her whole life has been an illusion, doesn't mean
: she literally her entire life. (Only someone who tries
: to prove he's not wrong would suggest that...)
Nitpicky? Sure. The title of the scenario is based on this single sentence. It better be a good one. And even allowing it to mean that parts of Kyrilla's life are illusory, it's *still* wrong because those illusions were crafted by *Cartucke* rather than by her own erring mind. And yeah, I'm trying to prove I'm not wrong. That's the point of an argument. Should I try to prove I *am* wrong? (Actually, I fear I successfully do just that in most of my posts...)
: It may be an unecessary exaggeration, but it's still a
: proper use of word.
No it ain't! If her life is an illusion she's DEAD!
: And (ahem) what happened to the "hybrid", eh? I
: thought chimera was a hybrid in the English language
: and nothing else, you botanist, you.
You can think what you like, at least until I get the long-range focused microwave transmitter powered up, but what I said in my earlier posts was that the *primary* meaning--not the only meaning--is "hybrid." Which it is, if only because all the cloning articles have drummed it into the global consciousness.

P.S. I'm no botanist--I'm a math/physics major. I loathe plants; nasty vicious things, coming over here, taking our jobs, seducing our daughters...*ahem*
